Music & Videos
As a children’s performer, I love nothing more than writing music and stories for little ones. Filled with all things cute, leafy, silly and whimsical, you can find my projects here.

Hi, I’m Jem!
Your children may know me as the loveable owl puppet ‘Hootabelle’ on ABC Kids’ show Giggle and Hoot, or performing alongside Andy Day and Phil Gallagher (Mr Maker, BBC) in the Australian tour of Andy’s Amazing Adventures! I am blessed to have classical music, dance and musical theatre in my life. It’s a gift I cherish sharing with my young audience.
Intuitively, I tap into my emotions, heart and empathy to create authentic early childhood shows and music workshops, that invite young children to embrace the wondrous world through music and theatre.
I love what I do. Seeing a child’s face light up when they hear their favourite song is absolutely joyous, and watching parents or caregivers connecting with their little ones through musical play is really very special.

What makes our sessions so good?
Music & movement program to suit your centre
With one-off or regular visits, my Jamming with Jemma incursions are adaptable to suit all early childhood age groups and centres. My sessions are filled with imagination, diversity, storytelling, warmth, and creativity to keep young children entertained, and are designed to support the unique curriculum of each centre.
Music sessions in line with the ELYF
My carefully crafted program is designed to fit in with the Early Years Learning Framework, and can form a vital part of your curriculum. Each session is fun and creative, and encourages children to explore the world through music, movement and a little sprinkle of magic.
A strong focus on inter-culturalism
Here in Australia, we live in a wonderfully diverse, multicultural society. Children find confidence from having their cultural identity recognised and celebrated, so integrating multiple languages and musical styles is a key feature in my program. The cultural heritage of Australia is rich and deeply connected to the land, and there is much we can learn from those who walked here long before us. Sharing this appreciation is an important part of my workshops and performances.
Loving words from happy clients
On behalf of our Neighbourhood group, a message to say how much we enjoyed your efforts and presentation of the children’s stories you presented at our Xmas party at Hanworth House. So much so that we have been asked if you will be coming again next year!
We are so lucky to have Jemma! Every Tuesday, our walls are filled with the sound of happy little singing voices, percussion instruments & Jemma’s ukulele. Jemma is a talented performer who forms beautiful and instant connections with her young audience.
